Explore mode
Ask questions about your engineering organization in natural language. The assistant answers with one of the following:
Answer | When you get it |
A LinearB Catalog metric | A curated LinearB metric answers your question. The answer shows it for your selected team and time period. |
A generated metric | No catalog metric fits. The assistant builds one from your data using a fixed set of LinearB tools. |
A clear "cannot answer" | The data needed is not available. The assistant says so instead of estimating. |
Explore searches LinearB Catalog content. Your Personal dashboards are in the dashboard library.
From Explore to Build
If no metric can answer your question, the assistant offers to build one: select Build to open the builder with a suggested prompt.
Build mode
Use Build mode to create or change a metric and its widget with the assistant's help. Describe what you want, for example deployment frequency by team as a bar chart, and the assistant builds it. Before returning a query, Build runs it to check it works.
Build mode opens in the builder, from:
- A Build starting point on the assistant home.
- The assistant's offer to build when no metric answers your question.
- Add a Widget on a dashboard you own.
- Edit in a widget's menu (⋮).
In the builder, the assistant shows Build! with suggested metrics. Type your request in What would you like to build? and click Send. See Build a widget.
