Effectively managing users in LinearB ensures that the right team members have appropriate access to reports, dashboards, and settings.

Inviting a User to LinearB
Invite additional users to your LinearB account by following these steps:
- In the LinearB side menu, click Settings to open the Company Settings.
- Go to the Users tab.
- Click Invite Users.
- In the Invite User form, enter the following details about the new user:
- Name
- Email address
- User's role (see User Permissions below)
- For Viewer or Editor roles, specify which User Teams the new user can access.
- Click Send Invitation to email the invitation to the user.
If the Invite Button is Disabled
Your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO). This means that:
- New users must request access through your internal IT team or SSO provider instead of being manually invited.
- If you need access, contact your SSO administrator to be added to the system.
Managing Pending Invitations
- When the invitation is sent, the user’s status will display as Pending until they accept the invitation and join LinearB.
- When a user logs in, their activation status will update from Pending to reflect the date they joined LinearB.
- If a user hasn’t accepted their invitation, you can resend it, generating a new email invitation.

Editing User Permissions
Only Admin users have the ability to edit permissions for other users. Follow these steps to update a user's permissions:
- In the LinearB side menu, click Settings to open the Company Settings.
- Go to the Users tab.
- Locate the user whose permissions you want to edit.
- Click the three-dots next to the username and select Edit Permissions.
- Choose a new permission level (Admin, Editor, or Viewer).
- For Editor or Viewer roles, specify which teams the user can access.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Permission Levels and Editing Rights
- Admins: Can edit any user’s permissions, including other Admins, Editors, and Viewers.
- Editors: Cannot edit or invite additional users.
- Viewers: Cannot edit or invite additional users.

Removing a User from LinearB
If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO), users cannot be deleted directly in LinearB. Instead, user removal must be managed through your SSO provider.
To delete a user from your LinearB account:
- In the LinearB side menu, click Settings to open the Company Settings.
- Go to the Users tab.
- Find the user you want to delete.
- Click on the three-dots next to their username and select Delete User.
- Confirm the action to complete the deletion. Deleted users will lose access immediately, and their permissions will be revoked.
