Updated by Steven Silverstone

WorkerB V2 is a lightweight version of the WorkerB integration, developed specifically for Microsoft Teams users in organizations with heightened security requirements. It requires fewer permissions and supports a streamlined feature set suitable for environments where full access scopes are not permitted.

Key Characteristics

  • Platform: Microsoft Teams only
  • Security-First Design: Designed for orgs with strict access controls
  • Reduced Permissions: V2 avoids installing with the broader scopes required by V1
  • Private Channel Support: Works in Microsoft Teams private channels
WorkerB V2 is not available for Slack.

Installation and Onboarding

WorkerB V2 is not available for self-service installation and must be coordinated with LinearB support.

To request the V2 installer and configuration guide, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or email support@linearb.io.

Limitations and Modifications

While WorkerB V2 enables Microsoft Teams support with reduced permissions, it includes the following constraints:

  • link team: Bot installation is only permitted if the user is either a member of the target team or an admin.
  • Inviting users via link team: This action does not work for non-admins, as it requires installing the bot on another user’s behalf.
  • unassigned reviwer notification: This is incompatible with delegated scopes and is currently disabled for V2.
  • invite: Only users with admin rights can install the bot for another user. Non-admins attempting to run this command will encounter a permissions error.
