TL;DR

LinearB now uses a lower default AI interaction confidence threshold when identifying AI-assisted code contributions.

For organizations using the default configuration, the threshold has been reduced from 50% to 25%. This change allows LinearB to identify a broader set of AI-assisted coding activity and provide a more complete view of AI adoption across engineering teams.

What Changed

  • The default AI interaction confidence threshold was reduced from 50% to 25%.
  • Organizations using the default configuration automatically receive the new threshold.
  • Organizations with a custom threshold configuration are not affected.

Organizations that have not customized this setting automatically receive the new default value.

Who Is Affected

This change applies only to organizations that are using the default AI interaction confidence threshold.

If your organization has never configured a custom threshold, the new 25% default is applied automatically.

Organizations that have explicitly configured their own threshold value are not affected, including organizations that explicitly set the threshold to 50%.

Impact on AI Footprint Metrics

With the lower threshold, LinearB may classify additional code contributions as AI-assisted.

As a result, organizations using the default configuration may see increased AI footprint values and AI adoption metrics after the change is applied.

No action is required. Organizations using the default configuration automatically receive the new 25% threshold.
