The Active Days Metric tracks the number of unique days contributors engage in Git activity—such as commits, PRs, and reviews—providing insight into team consistency, engagement, and delivery rhythm over time

Definition

The Active Days Metric is the total number on which individual contributors or team members performed any Git-related activity. This includes:

  • Committing code
  • Opening a pull request (PR)
  • Reviewing a PR
  • Merging a PR

Each unique day in which at least one of these actions occurs is counted as an Active Day for the contributor or team.

Why is This Metric Useful?
  • Reflects consistent team engagement and productivity.
Calculation
  • The number of unique days with recorded activity.
