Configuring Claude Code (Admin API)

Configure the Claude Code Admin API connector in LinearB to collect detailed user-level Claude usage, token, session, and cost data.

TL/DR

LinearB supports a dedicated Claude Code Admin API connector for customers who want detailed Claude Code usage reporting in AI Analytics.

Use this integration path when you want Claude usage data with user-level daily attribution, session counts, pull request and commit activity, tool action counts, token usage, and estimated cost reporting.

Important:

LinearB supports one Claude connector at a time in Settings → Company Settings → AI Tools → Claude Code. Choose the connector type that matches your Claude environment and reporting needs.

When to Use the Admin API Path

  • You want the most detailed currently supported Claude usage path in LinearB
  • You need user-level daily attribution for Claude Code activity
  • You want token, model, cost, session, commit, and pull request level reporting

Before You Begin

  • LinearB role: Company Admin
  • Anthropic access: Organization Admin
  • An Admin-level Anthropic API key

Step 1 — Generate an Anthropic Admin API Key

  1. Log in to your Anthropic admin console.
  2. Go to the API Keys section.
  3. Generate a new API key.
  4. Confirm the key has Admin access.
  5. Store the key securely. You may not be able to view it again after creation.

Step 2 — Add the Claude Code Admin API Connector in LinearB

  1. Go to Settings → Company Settings → AI Tools → Claude Code.
  2. Choose Add connector.
  3. Select Admin API as the connector type.
  4. Paste the API key into the required token field.
  5. Click Save.

After validation succeeds, the connector appears as a separate Claude configuration with its own status.

Historical Data & Refresh Cadence

  • Up to 90 days of historical Claude usage data can be backfilled on initial connection.
  • Activity before that window does not appear in AI Analytics or AI Insights.
  • After the initial connection, data is updated on a daily cadence.

Known Limitations

  • Claude data is updated daily, not in real time.
  • Suggestion-level acceptance metrics are not exposed as a separate Claude metric.
  • AWS Bedrock Claude integrations are not part of this Admin API setup path.
