Troubleshooting Missing AI Metrics
Troubleshoot missing or incomplete AI metrics by verifying integrations, permissions, and supported tools.
If you are not seeing AI metrics in AI Analytics, this may be due to a temporary release limitation or a configuration issue. Use this guide to verify required integrations and determine whether further action is needed.
In certain scenarios, AI activity attributed to system-managed or excluded accounts may not appear fully in AI Insights and AI Analytics. This does not indicate a configuration issue. If metrics appear incomplete after completing the checklist below, please contact Support.
Quick checklist
- A Git provider (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket) is connected and syncing.
- AI tools (such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor) are connected and authorized.
- Developers have Git activity during the selected time range.
Tool-specific troubleshooting
If the issue is limited to a specific AI tool (for example, Copilot is disconnected or its metrics fail to load), use the relevant guide below.
- GitHub Copilot Troubleshooting — 403 errors, missing Copilot data, policy requirements, and adoption anomalies.
1) Check AI tool connection status (out of sync banner)
If you see a banner such as Your data is out of sync: Copilot is not connected, the AI tool integration is disconnected or its authorization has expired.
How to fix
- Click Reauthorize in the banner.
- Alternatively, go to Settings → Integrations.
- Reconnect the relevant AI tool (for example, Copilot or Cursor).
- Allow time for data to resync and aggregate.
2) Confirm activity in the selected time range
AI metrics are computed from recorded activity during the selected time window. If there was no AI activity during that period, AI metrics may not appear.
What to check
- Developers created commits and opened or merged pull requests during the selected range.
- AI usage occurred within supported workflows during that same range.
- Try expanding the date range to include a period where AI usage is known to have occurred.
3) What each metric category depends on
Not all AI metrics rely on identical data sources. If a category is empty, verify the corresponding inputs below.
Adoption & Usage
- AI tool integration (for example, Copilot or Cursor)
- Git activity in the selected period
Throughput & Quality
- AI tool integration
- Pull request activity
- Review events (where applicable)
Delivery Impact
- AI tool integration
- Pull request activity
4) Historical backfill behavior
AI metrics can populate for historical periods only if the required integrations were active during that time.
- If AI tools were connected after the selected period, earlier AI usage may not appear.
5) Data sync and latency
After reconnecting an AI tool, data may take time to sync and aggregate. Larger organizations may experience longer processing windows depending on configuration.
When to contact Support
If AI tools are connected and activity exists in the selected period but metrics still do not appear, contact Support with the following:
- Organization name
- Selected time range
- Screenshot of the AI Analytics page (including any banners)
- Confirmation of connected Git and AI tool integrations
