Overview

The AI Services setting controls LinearB’s organization-wide AI-powered features and processing.

AI Services is separate from the external AI tool connections configured under AI Tools → Integrations.

AI Services controls LinearB’s own AI-powered capabilities. AI tool integrations collect usage data from external tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Amazon Q Developer, and Kiro.

Before You Begin

Verify that you have:

  • Company Admin access in LinearB.
  • Access to your organization’s Company Settings.
Only Company Admins can enable or disable AI Services for an organization.

Enable AI Services

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Open Company Settings.
  3. Select General.
  4. Locate AI Services.
  5. Enable the AI Services setting.
  6. Save the Company Settings.

When enabled, LinearB can run supported AI-powered features, automations, insights, and related processing.

Disable AI Services

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Open Company Settings.
  3. Select General.
  4. Locate AI Services.
  5. Disable the AI Services setting.
  6. Save the Company Settings.
Disabling AI Services stops LinearB’s AI processing and supported AI automations across the organization.

What Happens When AI Services Are Disabled?

When AI Services is disabled:

  • Supported LinearB AI automations stop running.
  • LinearB stops generating new AI-powered outputs.
  • Existing AI-generated data can remain visible where applicable.
  • AI Iteration Summaries and other supported AI-generated insights no longer populate.
  • Dependabot automations do not run.
  • Non-AI dashboards and metrics continue to function without their AI-powered enhancements.
External AI tool connectors can continue collecting provider usage data when AI Services is disabled. Connector behavior depends on the external provider and the active integration configuration.

AI Services and AI Tool Integrations

Use the following settings for different purposes:

AI Services

Go to Settings → Company Settings → General to enable or disable LinearB’s organization-wide AI capabilities.

AI Tool Integrations

Go to Settings → Company Settings → AI Tools → Integrations to connect and manage external AI coding tools.

Supported providers include:

  • GitHub Copilot
  • Cursor
  • Claude Code
  • Amazon Q Developer
  • Kiro

For setup and connector-management instructions, see Manage AI tool integrations .

AI Services and Automations

Supported LinearB AI automations require AI Services to be enabled.

Automation availability and behavior can also depend on the configured operation mode:

  • Managed Mode — Supported automations run through the LinearB-managed service.
  • Repository Mode — Automations are defined in repository configuration and run through Git provider infrastructure.
Managed Mode requires AI Services to be enabled.

The AI Services Setting Is Unavailable

If the AI Services setting is unavailable or cannot be changed:

  • Confirm that you are signed in as a Company Admin.
  • Refresh Company Settings and try again.
  • Confirm that AI Services is available for your organization.
  • Contact LinearB Support if the setting remains unavailable.
